about

Following The ‘McDowell Chamber Union’ EP comes the new Mark McDowell EP. Taking ‘Electric Folk’ as a starting point, Service of Owls is inspired by the late sixties television series The Owl service where the plaintive and pastoral are interrupted by storm breaking guitar injections. This is followed by a sitar led version of live favorite She Fell Away. Elsewhere the strum along ‘Common by Nature’ tells the story of the true levelers claiming common land rights. Also included is a ‘Lucky Man’ post punk/ electro mix as well as live ‘Dead Star Eyes’.
